yeah, i'm too cynical. i'm 57 years old and i have never voted. i don't have a bank account. i use cash. i have a small wad. i'd like to disappear into a mountain. i hate the capitalist democracy. i don't believe there will be respect for nature animal or human while people are in ultimate pursuit of money. i am also a victim of hope and change though not a believer in the system or the slogans. i wish it were different. i wish that the economy of extractive greed, war for resources and insensate consumption were not the goals. i wish there was compassion and good stewardship in government. but the corporations have the rights that were taken from people and nature. the system has us in it's death grip. i can't believe we can vote them out. i can only imagine the system collapsing from it's own weight, of consumptive greed, and suicidal ambition. 
i think i need to keep out of it though. if we can't even save a few acres of green space, i have to stop hoping and just live with the way things are. if there is money to be made, everything will be for sale. if power comes into play, as it will, power gets it free. we have numbers, and we can rally, but power isn't attending, power is playing golf and making arms deals.
