as the years went by, there was never less to see.

if only i had a fish-eye lens for eyes or a gazing globe from an ordinary garden.

even a single, simple glass of water collects a wider view than my eyes can manage but theses reflected or refracted microcosms are illusionary geographies containing details both distorted and intangible.
a cooler eye- no matter how narrow its range- would neutralize this chaos.

there is too much to consider; and to make things harder, too much occurs in living color.

                                                                                                     rosamund purcell,
                                                                                                     owl's head,
on the nature of lost things
