i went back to pebble beach and the water was divine, i saw some friends and shared their strawberries but not their prosecco. then a lot of emergency vehicles arrived: a helicopter, three rescue boats, a jet ski, a scuba truck and a fire truck. there was a boat by the shoal and one rescue boat threw it a line, but i never learned what happened. when i went back in the water it felt different. then i went back in a couple more times and it felt good, but i thought about some body drifting lifeless in the waves and i hugged the shore.
