i remember back in the late eighties in bucktown i lived across the street from saint mary's where the heads were falling off the sainted statues on the roof. i wanted to get a head, but i left them in piece on the ground. i remember the sky would stay orange for weeks and dust particles drifted from the tire re-treader, the metal recycler, and the steel forge. i had to ride through the industrial corridor each day to go to work at the record store. i thought then is this a manufactured hell we're living in? i remember when i look out the window at the obamachron and think positively, relatively, it could be worse. i remember, that's all.
