on the second walk by, the lulu walk, a guy who works for homer tree cutters asked if i was taking pictures and said there's a big bee hive in a hollow tree. i guess the bees had flown from the top exit as soon as the tree hugger started sawing. there were only a few by the time we got there. who knows how old the bee colony was. i read of one that was 125+ years.
