this suitcase is in the alley behind s.'s house. we're all wondering who put it there and what it contains. doll parts or machine parts or human parts. it may contain nothing. it might just be a piece of alley art. it may just be to make you think about all the parts in the whole world contained in one suitcase.
now i think of when rose was dying and clearing out her closets. she held out a suitcase and asked if we wanted it as she wouldn't be needing it anymore. i declined it. i felt sorry that she couldn't take it on vacation. the suitcase should remain empty and its emptiness suggestive of light traveling at journey's end.
