more people died in the last day than any other day since the pandemic came to illinois, but today only some people wore masks, and often the masks were hanging loose around the neck. when you see people without masks it's maybe not rational but part of the mental experience is feeling kind of foolish, like chicken little, yet knowing masses of people are dying and the foolish notion is that this corona siege is lifting. in fact there are forces at work that will use this pandemic to further destroy people's freedom and right to life, who only consider profits to be made in time of mass suffering and death. madison county declared itself open for business. a bar in quincy illinois hosted a shoulder to shoulder packed house. unmasked presumably. it's a foolhardy deathwishy brave new world.
