additionally, the amygdala helps form implicit memories (traces of past experiences that exist beneath conscious awareness); as it becomes more sensitized, it increasingly shades those residues with fear, thus intensifying trait anxiety (ongoing anxiety regardless of the situation).

r. felt bad i returned mister's scrimshaw bone sculpture and asked me to bring it back. she didn't know how much i cared about it. it's something mister made, it's his art, even if made unconsciously—maybe more so for that. i remember him looking at me when i took his bone sculptures out and made photographs. he was intrigued. he knows about the photographs we've made over the years, too, even if he's never seen them. he knows it's a collaboration of some kind and he's glad of it, like i am. i don't think this is projection, but if it is it's also part of the collaboration. part of the collaboration is daydreaming, and part speculation, and why not, a little projection with good intent. after all it's all about energy, he's a genius artist of energy. and healing—with his art he heals us.
so i got it back and i'm gonna put it with the schlumbergera cactus on the bookshelf.
