we saw the time that remains last night. a story of the occupied palestinians and their occupiers. i was thinking that was the greatest land grab of recent times, since the occupation of the native people in what is now called the u.s. the occupied are not really part of the occupation that calls itself united. in fact they are what remains of before the occupation, living out, living in, the time that remains. the conquerors are not even united, except as the occupiers of the occupation. there is a silent figure with dark shining eyes, watching. he's our witness and guide. the occupation is normalized but ever strange. watching the watcher i felt that we are all occupied. we know that feeling. we know those tired vigilant penetrating inward eyes.
