the guy in the background is always there looking at me not always you know but like every time i go anyplace. he stands out, and he stares at me, he never smiles, he never says anything, he rides by on his bike with a camera like me but when i look at him he stares right through me. anyway i notice him now and then i forget he's there. i see him passing in the background after the event, now he's still, lurking. though then he was moving. now he lurks. i might say, he slurks. that's a word i coined inadvertently, slurring words. i'll say that guy creeps me out only mildly, he's not so bad, but he's just not warm and friendly, and look at those dark shades—brrr.
i haven't said anything about the couple in the foreground i realize. because i know even less about them than he guy who lurks. that could be his native name, one who lurks at gatherings. ha, i'm the same! i'm the one who lurks on the other side. no wonder the one who lurks looks at me and through. oh my dog, my beard is scruffy like his too. how funny, we're dopplegangers. but i had the fantasy that it would be nice if we black and white were on the edges of the native world and not just for ceremony.
