the girl ahead of me at the library kept staring at my book by linda sarsour, we are not here to be bystanders. sarsour is on the cover wearing a purple hijab. at first i thought she was curious and i smiled and waited for a question but she looked away, spoke with the librarian, stared again, said nothing. i know she wanted to say something, and it was not a question, not curiosity, it was enmity.
