maybe being really rich does make you a different species, the apex predator, maybe the global elite are not so stupid as they seem to us lower caste animals. maybe their money will help them survive while the rest of us sputter and die out. still, i would not wish to be one of their small number when we're all gone. they'll have to live with themselves, until they grow bored and disgusted with fucking each other over and find that they can't endure their lot and finally, finally, kill each other off as well.
