i'm thinking about mister and hoping he's resting tonight now that the anaesthetic's worn off and he's eager to leave, but i'm also thinking about the eviction machines in oakland particularly and here with the obomba fundation center. in oakland they sent out swat teams with armored vehicles, assault rifles and a weaponized robot to evict moms and children for peaceful civil protest. i wonder if that's what it's coming to here in obombaland. i read they shrunk the "community benefits" affordable housing zone from a 2 mile radius to 3/5ths of a mile ribbon. whatever benefits they promise the obomba fundation is a gentrification engine and a displacement machine. on one side they have a community that may actually fight to stay and on the other the waters will continue to rise. and a lakefront commission that will be asking for emergency funds to fortify the shoreline while obomba asks for hundreds of millions of taxpayer funds to alter the roads around his vainglorious private enterprise. maybe it's a classic chicago done deal and maybe people here are so resigned to gentrification they've already left woodlawn, the only area that is even considered for the community benefit.
