there is no progress in nature. there's evolution, but they have the suicide seeds for that. anyway we have to fight for the environment that has no money and the animals and people that have no rights. otherwise, futility. it may be a futile dream to save the park, or any nature anywhere, but the most futile thing is what they say to us who would try, "get over it".
Opposition
to OPC as long as it is in a public park, has nothing to do with
actions that anyone should "get over." It has everything to do with
respecting the environment, standing for basic democratic and
law-abiding values, and refusing to become an authoritarian movement
that turns people into automatons who obey their leaders and do what
they are told, even when the result is destructive to the community to
which they belong, and ultimately to the fate of the entire human
race. charlotte
i was just talking about this at the model yacht pond dog park
today. as long as progress is only considered in monetary terms i think
our birds are cooked.
my friend at the yacht club said
the club is probomba except for one fellow who is vehemently opposed.
i'm going contact him. like pat says, it's theft of our park, and public
land for all, not the moneyed elite, and regardless of the chances, we
must fight for our green space.
the real futility is in that phrase, "get over it", resign yourself, the bulldozers are here.
(this was too quickly done, i may have to amend)
