lala's back. her mom came over and then went to see if lala wanted to meet hilde again.

here they are before they left. people change. they get older. i don't think she felt the same today, but she may have just wanted to be with friends. she still loves dogs, but she's a social creature now. the time when a kid and dog mingle in mute fascination may be fleeting. any fascination may be fleeting. i spose it's situational. i have different modes of being with the dogs, including mute fascination, as well as annoyance, and so on. i think when i see a kid like lala in early contact with a dog i feel something i want to return to and keep alive, a radiant heart-thumping animal love. some of us feel animal fascination all our lives. i hope lala does.
