the world is so attenuated now. it's all raw feeling but feeling blunted. all is attenuated, all is provisional. i think about the book Blindness, wherein everyone starts to go blind at the same time, or a recent movie which is forgettable save for the idea that there is something funny going on, and it's endemic, and is translated in sci-fi/horror terms as an epidemic loss of all the senses. are we losing sentience? will we lose life without sentience? i think so. i think it not worth the game. will the sentient remain and gravitate toward one another? or will they be hunted, imprisoned or killed by the insentient. i like to imagine a world where the thin-skinned, the vulnerable, animals and plants and children are ultimately the survivors simply because greed and violence devour the hosts of power from within.
