up dat update kiddo

woman with cute grey pit faced us across the street, waiting i guess for us to go the other way. is there a problem i say. she says my dog is a rescue and i have no control, then starts crossing toward us saying menacingly ok we'll just see what happens, and i say ok, my dog's good, but we will cross the street to avoid you. she says you're an asshole, i say you're a fuckin' bitch, and we go our separate ways likely forever i hope.
is that what they teach rescuers about rescues? avoid all social contact? do not attempt to re-socialize your rescue for it is too late the damage is done? and continue the damage every step? i can't believe it. i think she was an asshole before the dog and now puts the dog first, as a warning and a weapon, so fucking sad.
i'm sorry for the dog. i loathe the woman.
then calm water pure bliss my buddy swims beside me and on the way home we talk to lucy's mom about rescue and how some people just have no clue what it means or how to do. she looks at mister and says he's her favorite dog in the neighborhood, there's something about him, his aura, he has the buddha nature, and i tell him of his wild youth and she's further awed, and we both have rescues and we both shared our love for our rescues who rescue our own buddha nature from chaos.

postscript.
i don't really loathe her. i loathe the sin. and she is not an idiot, or at least i don't know that she is, i only know that she is profoundly ignorant about dogs and human nature and about how to rescue a rescue. people get rescues and feel ennobled yet haven't the faintest idea about how to help them to become their best, often buried selves. people like that one probably really need a dog to rescue them, but in order for that to happen they have to also be capable of rescuing the dog. taking the dog out of the shelter is not a rescue. to rescue the dog you need intelligence and instinct, and love, most importantly. maybe she will learn, magic happens, though mainly by belief, and she did not seem to be on the path of learning, let alone enlightenment.
