if you don't believe in symbols do they not exist? does the content of symbols exist without the container? if there is a word does it exist in reality? is the word a symbol? does the word only refer to itself?
i broke a welded object, two corner hearts seamed together, like a plumb. the eve of saint valentine's day. i thought of those heart necklaces that are cracked in two. and two people go around wearing them. are they joined, or cracked. are they cracked symbols. will they be joined having been created apart? 
where is sanctuary. what are we making for children. what are we breaking apart. is it all just symbolic, symbols cracked, refuse to replace. where is the heart seeking sanctuary in a cracked world.
