in a blizzard copp and barn and i saw a sleek dark animal slipping through harold washington park looking frightened and in need of connection. he watched us from a distance and crossed 51st street and looked back at us from the corner.
he looked like luna. later we saw him again on cornell heading south. i was reluctant to call animal control because of my experience with them. that was the last i saw of him. until yesterday. a friend told a friend about me and she called me to meet her rescued dog and when i saw him it was the very orphan of the storm i missed. now he is fezzik-boo, and i feel thrilled. i will be staying with him and his house mate, little humper, this week.
i lasted but a moment in the house of fezzik-boo. not long enough to gain his love or even a picture. trauma leads to trauma or healing. it is rather a mystery. copp and i have had trauma and healing. it is unfortunate it doesn't always work that way. some damage. some healing. world hurt. care. |
