i'm reading in the book, treekeepers, the chapter, coexisting with concrete, thinking about the street trees in tiny squares bound by concrete, trying to live and waiting to die, holding a patch of tired earth until they are replaced. megatons of concrete for the obamachron. a drained wetland becomes a concrete playground. the local land grab is planetary. the improvement they cite is inexorable progress toward collapse. we're living in the finite harvest of infinite expansion. that's what coexistence has become: coexisting with concrete, living the collapse.
