i believe we have a resident kestrel again this spring. i heard a bird cawing, and it wasn't a kestrel or a crow. i went out and saw the kestrel and another bird that looks like a robin. would a robin try to chase off a kestrel? later the robin left and the kestrel flew to the cottonwood tree and then came back. i went to the top of the fire escape and said welcome, i'm glad to see you here.
