i met a friend who studies climate chaos and the anthropocene. as it happens i was just thinking of them. i thought, if you add up the time we've met over the years, it would be a drop in the bucket, the bucket with a hole, but there's something there, a connection of hearts, or spirits, something. we talked about the disconnect in their students, not knowing the syllabus, nor wearing their masks. i said you know like ghosh says, we're in the great derangement. that's how we talk, and then i said i just watched the belmarsh tribunal, and she looked blank, and i said julian assange, and she looked blank, or thinking, maybe, but why are you talking about him? we left it for another day.
