we saw this bird in front of the abandoned international student house where the facilities services workers come and go. it's not a big bird killer, but a bird can crash into any window. a stream of lab kids flowed by and the teacher said they photographed the bird too. i'm reminded of the german film, the wall, where she crashes into an invisible wall and is trapped inside for life though she's only stunned and doesn't die. and i think ahead to the birds that will crash into the inevitable obama complex tower. someone will have a job gathering the dead birds like the person at the 911 tower of light memorial, those birds hitting not windows but ensnared in the ghost light.
