sneaking out of the picture lulu. in a minute the community benefits rally is happening. i always thought that was absurd as the community won't get any benefit if they can't pay the rent. people see that the obomba fundation is not only about stealing the public park, it's actually a massive urban renewal project under the ruse of an economic uplift. the lift will be the investors enhancing their bankrolls. the people will find no benefit and no rights and in fact will be driven out of their homes, as is already happening. the obomba fundation doubtless thought they would have broken ground already in advance of the major displacement and without a community benefits agreement as obomba said bringing all kinds of folks appealing to the powers that be for mercy. there will be no mercy that is already guaranteed. but the community benefits agreement will show the obomba fundation has no intention of benefiting the existing community. his community is not this community. his community will replace the poor with the rich and reap all the benefits to be.
a study from u.i.c. of the obomba fundation impact zone of a 2 mile radius from ground zero/the tower, notes that 69% are renters with incomes below 20,000 and 91% can't afford the rent. eviction rates here are the highest in the city. the lowest rent for a one bedroom in the sample is 1,000, in washington park. that's 2.5 times my rent. i could not afford to move now, and i know how lucky i've been. but i've been evicted by the urban renewal horde before and it's an awful despairing thing.
