Save Our Sanctuary

there was another particularly vapid letter to the editor from some dandified academic judge at northwestern u. who said there's no chance the decision on the obomba fundation land grab will be reversed, and judges are by definition impartial, and the paul h. douglas nature sanctuary is not a sanctuary after all, so i wrote a note to the herald: in fact wooded island is the paul h. douglas nature sanctuary, isn't it. nature doesn't have a voice in all this, and is mute in the face of the propaganda for human utility. but there is a sanctuary at least in name, and it is under direct threat by the obama foundation. and the herald said is that a letter to the editor mr. shaeffer? and i said well, it wasn't exactly a letter rather a note, but then i went on and said,

well, it was a quick response to your article yesterday with that law professor from northwestern. i would like people to know that it is a nature sanctuary, and an important one, in an era where privatization is increasing and habitat is dwindling, along with the extinction of more species. everything now is gauged by commodity value, not natural or inherent value, and this appropriation of public land poses a woeful precedent and threat to all public space. the judge was wrong, and yes, judges are on the wrong side of history sometimes, and sometimes they have bias.

i and the sanctuary appreciate it. there has been a steady stream of pro-obama rhetoric, let's talk about the voiceless, and it's not just nature, it's people as well. already many have been displaced.
and it will go to the file of earnest anti-obombites or i'll gladly eat my hat.

it occurs to me it's always a good time for propaganda, but it mostly comes to the aid of war and land grabs and quick big buck real estate scams. it's particularly good for the kind of specious flip fakers like obomba and trump now, i don't know why but perhaps because everything is topsy-turvy. not only is war peace and peace war, and truth lie and lie truth, it's 40 degrees above normal in the arctic and in chicago there's no summer. although now we'll be hit with a scorcher, just to be contrary. if it was just the weather that's one thing, but the weather plus the propaganda is a catastrophe.
