i was looking up the author of a book i found, what we go by, by russell hardin, and i found a talk about david hume and mirroring and sympathy, then i looked at mirror neurons in the frontal lobe and how animals feel each other's feelings with these. i thought about rubbing frontal lobes with mister. coincidentally i was listening to a sampling of experimental music and abject mirror by porest came on, just as i was reading about mirror neurons. abject mirror is about mirrors not reflecting humans, people looking for themselves in mirrors, having no reflection. the mirror neuron is related to empathy, and seems to be missing in some people. abject mirror is about how the human image has stopped reflecting. i hear a lot about the lack of empathy of late, and the idea that the quality of empathy has disappeared from the human community, and we see a lot of privatization of the community, erasing of community, like graffiti. i found a mirror that decayed that had no reflection left. can we have vision without reflection? is there some kind of mirror decay in the human world. i have often felt people look right through me. animals always look at me, they see me, even when they look peripherally. humans will look down or blank their eyes. sometimes they don't even blink or look down. as if there's no one there right in front of them, and they don't appear to be there in their eyes. they don't reflect or pass light.
i knew some people who thought mirrors were not good to have, maybe one little one just to shave. when some people die some people cover all the mirrors, i think because ghosts can get caught and trapped in mirrors. mirrors are like holograms too, each fragment contains an image, but the reflection is fragmented. i saw a mirrored house in switzerland, the whole house, except the roof, was a mirror, it looked like the landscape, with a peaked hat. a house of mirrors is usually mirrored inside, and it's creepy. the mirrored house was lovely. thoughts, it occurs to me, can be like a house of mirrors or a mirrored house, or maybe a glass where the mirror decayed.

the next music is by laurie spiegel, laurie mirror, called unseen worlds.
unbereavable.
