i distributed pamphlets for alderman gabriel today. talked with powell's and they think it's fine to take public parkland for private enterprise, like ram, they think the public trust prevents free enterprise, and green space is for economic development, free for private enterprise, and green space doesn't pay human utilities. that would be the chicago party line, unless... lucas was stopped, the olympic land grab was stopped, amazon was stopped in queens... you never know. if we let obomba take the park the developers will have a free for all. all developers, all money makers. free enterprise means no public trust, means no public, per se, free means private enterprise. freedom? we shall see.
and we shall see if the u.s. exercises free enterprise on venezuela as on puerto rico, iraq, et cetera, the whole grim history of domino effect capitalism. what we do there we do here, and no one is immune to this kind of enterprise, unless people rise up against the thugs and the war profiteers.
