lulu bites her leash and scratches her harness and naturally like everybody does not want to be constrained, and wants to be free. she's too wild yet, but i yearn for what she yearns, because when a dog is free with me i feel free, and when a dog is constrained i feel the the hard taut limit of freedom. i feel the dull constraint. a dog that is smart and wants to be free feels the leash as a coercion, and a punishment for the natural yearning to be free. every dog is unique, and not all of us can reach freedom, but the smart ones can, they are the ones who will be grateful given the chance, and be free with care for others who also want the same thing. together we are learning how to navigate this complex web, and we are connected by this leash, but one day i hope we will be together like mister and me, free.
