when i was reading this is an uprising i was surprised to learn that barack obama started out as an organizer in an alinskyite community organization on the south side of chicago. saul alinsky wrote rules for radicals, and just before i read that i was telling r. i wish we had somebody like saul alinsky here now to help stop obama. then i read that alinsky was immensely charismatic and very good at starting things, he was not good at keeping things going, he'd be on to the next big thing. and that's obama, too, though he's gone much further on charisma into power, and the next big thing was not the good thing, and he left the community for the empire.
