if we didn't have hope, if we gave up hope, would we still be crushed? if power doesn't crush us, are we bound to crush ourselves?

i have to wonder why if olmsted's washington park and the midway and jackson park are one open space and all on the national register of historic places, why do they say the obama foundation should not expand its footprint beyond jackson park. why is the park already lost? why can't we have some open space? why do we even ask in a country where war is commerce and there is no protection and no public trust.
