i saw the new cosmos last night, parts 1 and 2. it's pretty cheesy stuff. it talks about the first 5 extinctions, but thus far hasn't mentioned the latest, the extinction of man. tardigrades, or water bears, are one critter that has survived all 5 extinctions. and they will survive even the rats that survive us.
i watched the lobster too. in it, if a person is single, or newly single, by death or abandon, they get sent to a swank hotel in ireland and they get hunted by the others with tranquilizer guns and the people who bring them down get to stay longer. the ones who are tranquilized get turned into animals. you get to choose the animal you will be when you arrive. the main character chooses to become a lobster, because they live over a hundred years. but another one says, ya, but they mostly end up boiled alive. it was not cheesy, but it was quite strange. it's a parable, but a parable in this age is a fractured fairy tale.
