sunday. young comet dog fell through the ice in jackson park lagoon by the bridge where 
the current cuts a line and he was scrabbling wildly and his mary rescued him 
and was subsequently herself rescued by johnny. all are safe and recovered now 
and have a true life adventure to tell. 
johnny had an asthma attack and scrapes and bruises and is our hero now forever. 
some dogs and peoples have an instinct about ice, like mister and me, who have walked a mile out on the frozen inland sea past the shipwreck from 1914. 
others well, instinct comes of luck and hard learning. 
funny, i was walking there shortly after with r. when we had to step aside to let the big black security suv by,  and i was saying they are only here to enforce 
law not to help. 
sure enough, security, with cameras in the sky and trees, were not there to rescue anyone.
