finished rosen's book on birding in the end of nature and there's good to be gleaned from it but it falls in it's limited vision, particularly regarding israel. some interesting stuff about birds though. and poet birds.

this fellow likes catfish. he says the goldfish from the ornamental garden escaped and live in the lagoon. i mention that they are set to poison all the fish and he says there was a boat out yesterday and they left some green stuff floating on the water. i hope they haven't started experimenting with poison. my beloved still swims. i think we just keep going, it's a poisoner's world we must inhabit, and we can't let them have the added victory on top of killing species of killing our spirit and joyous activity with terror.
