I just read that the Hebrew word for land surveyor, moshoakh, is the same as the word for messiah, moshiakh, except for one vowel. Knowing that makes quite a revolutionary difference in reading Kafka's Castle. I've thought of the Obamachron as The Castle. I recall how tedious and inscrutable the story was to read. The Obamachron is the same. And like The Castle, it doesn't end. It couldn't have an ending because it goes on in perpetual inscrutability and anyway Kafka couldn't go on living as he had to die.
