are you sad? i had a brief exchange about death and sadness before my walks. i say sadness is inevitable as death, and it doesn't mean one denies the fact of death, on the contrary. somebody said that to be sad means denying the reality of life and death, which being simply reality, does not warrant sadness. i think they just don't want to deal with sadness. it's as much a part of the human condition as death. and it's not just a conditioned sentimental response. i know i've felt sad a lot in my life, and it has biographical roots, but it also comes from the world. do you feel sad about the genocide? the extinction?
