warning: satantango has a horrific cat cruelty scene. i had some horrific cat scene dreams. i can't imagine seeing that scene on the big screen. i was supposed to years ago at doc films. that was before jasper and penny lu. also penny was screaming in the real night. and the weather has been pretty lousy for days. i ain't seen the sunshine since i don't know when. in the film it's always raining. the film is still amazing and i'll watch the second half. like lars von trier béla tarr has a dark view of humans, and while i still look after the animals and for the light, i can't help but have the same dark view. i live in the epicenter of a country that commits horrific industrial scale animal cruelty daily and was founded on industrial genocide. i'm going to write a note to wayne hsuing.
