summer solstice. the obamachron. the day after my first swim the days begin to decrease. it was gradual but it feels abrupt. there's a lot of sun left, and the water is always there for you. the obamachron is just a fact, like millenium park or great america. other facts surround it like a ring of trees around a heat island with a tower imposing like a sun dial in scorched earth. i thought about what a bomb cyclone would do with it. as long as i'm around i'm one of those other shadowy peripheral facts.
