i was thinking about the film holy hell, about a cult formed around this really creepy guy. watching it i couldn't believe the people couldn't see how psychotic he was. how could they not see? at the end one of the ones who escaped said, look around you, there are cults everywhere! and i thought, that's it exactly, look at the cult of obomba, the cult of trump, and i thought, that's what it is that's so disturbing here. america itself is a cult of democracy, dividing and conquering and popping out factions everywhere, a mockery of democracy, a demockrisy, with criminal charismatic leaders who seduce and abandon and take the brainwashed people for a long expensive ride and bilk them and the environment of every resource they've got, leaving a wake of devastation while they grow glassy eyed and rich. i totally get cults now.
