can we look at anything simply? can we simply look? k. says it's the most difficult thing in the world, to look at anything simply, because our minds are too complex, because we have lost the quality of simplicity. but it's not hard to see we just require simplicity. the world's got so fragmented and fractured and our minds have followed the stunted program of that untoward progress. that just means we need simplicity more than before. and we are simple. we're not the anxious image of the world we reflect. that's a surface agitation that's obscured us, muffled our innocence and love. the essence is simplicity. that dream that tries to rise and sinks back under the tense chaos at the surface. complexification is a powerful recipe made up for the masses. individually we're humble and simple. we are dependent. we need. to connect. we may be obscured but not yet disappeared. we wait inside ourselves.
