it was in the nineties yesterday. the lake flipped and it was like fifty. we had to run in and swim out far to escape the carnivorous flies, who leapt on mister as soon as we emerged. i pulled a green switch off a scrappy little city tree to sweep them off my lil buddy as we ran and he plopped down repeatedly to roll em off.

then today there were no biting flies but the sea surface was covered with winged creatures floating as far as we could see and far as we swam out, but the water was magically delicious, and i felt myself tingly-tingly, a water spirit as an old boy. i think we both feel the same magic surge back and forth between us. when i get ahead of him i turn and dog-paddle, holding out my hand and he reaches me and rests his paws and breathes deep, and then we spin a circle and head for shore.

as we walk the wind rises from the east and the water dances westerly and strange clouds appear and every body quickens and coolly sparkles and smiles flutter body to body pollinating everybody's common heart.
