playground with crows.

i love movie commentary. last night i learned that Voyage to Italy was in part based on The Dead, and the couple was called Joyce.

copp looks for a way up.

he climbs the stairs but sees that he cannot cross the rope bridge and laughs.

there are passages in the film where nothing really happens serving simply to slow down the story and make you look.

thought of the spirit to which the word seems mere flesh, pendant.

i thought about the relations of wealth and catastrophe.

crows haunt the passage between one life and another.

i fancy that one crow is my uncle homer i never knew who was also mysteriously called spook.

transcendence is just the beginning for us.

rossellini was talking about the survival of the past in the present, the insubstantial boundary between the living and the dead.
