Let's abolish the United Nations and Nato.

 Ari Brown.

There were insect clouds rising from the trees, and the crow moon rising from the lake in the east, and the sense of another cloud, along the horizon, an earth cloud, of dust, of pollution, of gasping breath, of hope, a common earth cloud of witness, on the horizon.

I finished The Silence in a few hours yesterday, with the crow moon coming. It's about the collapse, the apocalypse or whatever, written in 2020. It's a new book though, after several printings. I missed it before, but it could be written as we speak, if Don DeLillo was still here. I wish he was. I wish he was on Substack in the afterlife. And then I started Earth 7, about life on earth after the collapse, the apocalypse, or whatever. I can feel it coming, whatever it is.

"What if all this is some kind of living

breathing fantasy?"

"Made more or less real," Jim says.

"What if we are not what we think we are?

What if the world we know is being completely

rearranged as we stand and watch or sit and talk?"

Don DeLillo

The Silence

Yeah, they used to try to hide it, now they brag about it, now genocide is normalized.

The monster flew to New York, stood up at a podium in the United Nations, held up a little personal device, grinning like a boy, boasting about murdering people with exploding pagers. It almost seems like we don't know how to respond to such evil. We want to be worldly. We don't want to appear naive, or perhaps quaint. It's the United Nations, it's normalized. In congress they give long standing ovations. We don't know what to do with our dignity. I read in The Silence, Life can get so interesting that we forget to be afraid.

We've crossed an unaccountable threshold. This is our time.
