we played the moon song. the moon played a song for us. the moon stayed up all night, calling through the window. one cat slept in a box, one cat slept on a pillow.

panoramic night. r.'s getting her akashic record read from india. i just finished an inventory of losses. it was good, not what i expected or was led to think it was, but good. i mentioned her other book atlas of remote islands, and r. said it sounds familiar, i think i might have it, or maybe not, maybe i had it, or heard about it, and then she went in the living room and got it. i'm going to peruse it now and maybe read it now or after pigeons on the grass. jasper the polar bear cat is lying next to me patiently wanting to play. and falling asleep.

incandescent pine and sunlit moon—that keeps the earth in its orbit.

who knows whether life is death and death is life?               —euripedes

think about life far away. life there is near as you and i. and we are far away.

i took pictures of lulu jumping for a baby's teether in a tree, but they never appeared, as i had the camera set on panorama. i'm trying not to read any news today, i just delete delete. i did watch dem. now! and i heard myself moaning repeatedly, oh my dog, it's sickening, oh my dog. so i don't know what good knowing does, and i know what ills. the country is a criminal enterprise, nuff said. the best thing i can do is make cloud panoramas and dogs in the dry whispering grass.

it ain't like i pictured it.

thas more like it.
but not quite.

i wish i could say how i feel about what is happening with people, against people. the feeling is there but the expression eludes me. so many horrifying abuses are being done and the outrage that should come if it does seems to get smaller with each occurrence. what should be most terrifying is normality.

let's say we can go into the deeper layers of time. not everything we're made to believe is true, yet lest we believe—nothing is true. let's say everything is recorded in time, including everything lost or forgotten. what if we could read forever in the intimate vastness, the inviting library of the good soul earth.
