Iran gets that we're in one inter-connected economy and is trying to clearly signal their power of mutually assured economic destruction to simply get the Americans to leave town. But America is just a rogue algorithm at this point, it has terminal capitalist cancer. Its elites are attacking Asia and looting their own treasury and they win if America loses. There's really no point analyzing the place politically or even financially. It's like asking why the Coyote chases the Roadrunner. He just does.
