who was that man said we have met the enemy and he is us, some four-star general raining death. some alien. long ago. now we look in the mirror and try to love the alien in us.

but i hear what goes around comes around like a bad cop.
i'm not sayin', you know..i'm just sayin'.
 pretend glasses.
these days i mostly like to watch.
what do i know from terror? i'm just an aesthete.

sure you gotta respond but if that kid from uic meant to kill he'd have done it first then emailed later or if he was eliminated had someone else press Send. but if that cop gets off for that particular murder i assume there will be trouble.

when there is a threat the best thing you can do is cultivate emptiness and act natural.
cultivating emptiness in a tunnel vigilant of police.
when i found the E on the beach i thought of emptiness, but when i found the L i thought of El, This Strange Passion, by the hero of cinema Luis Bunuel. there is no rational connection i am not too lazy to find.

a little dude from homeland security parked in front of the bank and stood on the corner smoking cigs. everything was just abnormally quiet and i didn't feel the fear factor just the normal dread of that one bad cop but that's normal it's always red alert these days.

today there was a terror alert and it was nice and quiet. the book store was closed but in the free pile i found Fragile by Yes, and Monsters by The Meat Puppets. it was not a terrible day.

the buses whiz by, not stopping for pedestrians and blocking the intersection, with big signs saying "report suspicious activity". the paranoia is palpable, the surveillance increasing. the terror state coming home.
