we got a card from dr. sara about penny. she wrote, i could see right when i met her what a loving girl she was, even when she wasn't feeling well. i know that kind of extraordinary personality only comes from years of being treated with love and respect. because penny was a paricularly smart girl, i know that she was able to appreciate all you did for her.

this makes me cry again. i'm thinking of her drinking at the sink, looking up when dr. sara came, and coming in to meet her. the way she walked in the room was so beautiful.
