it's nothing to do with charlie but mom just told me dad was nixon's speechwriter during watergate. i remember he said he was in a government/industry exchange program. in 1972 when i was 13 and in a delinquent meltdown i said i was moving to dad's then changed my mind. i have a young republicans letter from nixon thanking dad for hosting him on tour in sullivan, illinois. i can see why he would have been secretive then, but it's strange he never talked about it later. the old man had a lot of secrets i think i'll never know.
