thin places in hyde park?

now i'm reading thin places. it's about ireland, and i think about the trauma of borders, domination and violent control. i had thought of thin places as peaceful, but they may also be ghost zones. i heard a recording of the first moments when the last guns of the first world war were fired, and the birds were singing, and i wondered if they had been singing before or just started to sing the end of war, anyway, it was a sweet and ghostly sound, a sound of bird life, inextinguishable in the midst of total war. well, i'm only on page 12. but in regard to the obamachron i was wondering, was the women's circle garden a thin place? i don't think obama would be sensitive to thin places. to him places are for taking and building. and nothing is unique to a place, though he wants the best real estate, for free. he thinks whatever is displaced is worth the gain, to him, and places and neighborhoods can be moved around to make way for the business of progress.
