i was in the tunnel photographing some lovely trump americana before it got whitewashed and we emerged just in time to hide behind a serviceberry tree and stand still like frightened rabbits until until the po-po went by.

pause. i just quit copper because his human insists she will give him rope toys again. i said i would rather quit him than to watch him die. and she charged me for the rope toy i threw out.

i warned her about the rope toys disappearing in his stomach before the last surgery removed a twelve inch section of his intestine. she brought the rope in saying she was going to investigate further to see if it was indeed a rope. she never did confirm whether or not it was in fact a rope toy. now she says she will monitor him closely and that it wasn't strands of rope lodged within and reconstituted as a rope but was in fact a section of rope with a knot in it that was the culprit. i said ask the people who removed the rope whether it's a good idea or not to give him another rope. i said it with maximum volume yes. i know we are supposed to be submissive to our employers and cede control. bullshit. i'm here for the dog.
