the power went out so i climbed the roof to see how far the darkness extended and thought of the ghost crow. still turning in the wind of a slow migration. 

an evil, or simply delusional, or just hateful, woman comment-threatened dog people who dare the nature sanctuary, claiming that it is dogs who are causing the extinction of birds. i will ask our birder friends who we have been meeting for years about this. in my experience birds are less wary of dogs than people, and in my experience it is people who are causing the extinction of the birds.
